(GORE Callao), the body that manages said protected area and ecological heritage of the region.

This initiative responds to ADN's solid commitment to contribute to the sustainable development of the communities in which it operates and generate a positive impact on people, the environment and regional economies. On this occasion, an important investment was made to improve its facilities to make them available to the residents of Ventanilla, as well as the hundreds of students, scientists and tourists who visit this important ecotourism center every week.

In his inaugural speech, the Regional Governor of Callao, Mr. Dante Mandriotti Castro, thanked the Ventanilla SAC (ADN) project for its contribution to the improvement of this important ecotourism destination, developed in the context of the Framework Agreement for Inter-institutional Cooperation signed between both institutions in June of 2022, in order to establish general guidelines for cooperation and articulation of policies, programs and projects that they execute in common for the improvement of the infrastructure of the Regional Wetlands of Ventanilla Conservation area.

In the recently inaugurated project, a new interpretation room has been implemented with an educational script in 29 information panels, which value wetlands as a sensitive and important ecosystem, and the ACR as a unique and key place for numerous species of flora and fauna.

Additionally, a large work and exhibition workshop has been set up where the artisan mother entrepreneurs of the area can prepare and display their products made from native vegetable fiber, a new waiting pergola and a contribution has been made to improving the reception infrastructure in the ACR, improving signage on trails, breaks and viewpoints, among other equipment.

It is important to highlight that the initiative is developed to be a fully sustainable system: it has solar panels for lighting and operation of the new spaces, ecological toilets with a biodigester for the treatment of domestic effluents and a waste segregation station.
